Fueling a Crisis: The Humanitarian Effects of Refugee Policies

Live Online Webinar

Wednesday, December 20, 6:00 PM EST

Join Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) for an end of year webinar on the global refugee crisis.

Policies enacted by governments around the world, from the United States to the European Union to Australia, have dire effects on the lives of people displaced by war and hardship. MSF treats patients hurt by these policies in places like Libya, Iraq, Mexico, and Bangladesh.

Dr. Brenton McCoy recently returned from Libya, where MSF provides medical care to migrants held in inhumane detention centers who are extorted, tortured, and brutalized. In this webinar, Dr. McCoy will discuss his experience and the harsh realities faced by people stranded by Europe's closed border policies. MSF humanitarian representative Jason Mills will also be on hand to explain how the policies and actions of western governments are exacerbating the global displacement crisis and increasing the suffering of millions of people around the world.
