A Survivor of Sexual Violence in Colombia

After Gisela was raped by a member of a local militia, she contracted HIV. Then, she and her son were forcefully displaced from their home. They ended up in Buenaventura, one of the most violent places in Colombia. Gisela received mental health care from Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and it changed her life. Now, she's a leader in her community, helping other women work through some of the same challenges she has faced.
