Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is continuing to respond to the magnitude 7.2 earthquake that shook southern Haiti on Saturday, August 14, and to provide medical care to the people who need it. MSF sent approximately 100 tons of medical and relief supplies to Haiti from MSF’s supply warehouse in Brussels last weekend. In this video, MSF freight operator Hussein Choker shows us a behind-the-scenes look at the process. “We have to prepare the flights, we have to prepare all the freights and all the material to bring it up to Liege, and then to deliver it in time to Haiti,” says Hussein. “So actually, our challenge is the timing.”
The cargo, which has landed in Haiti, includes emergency medical tents, water and sanitation supplies, and medical materials for the care of up to 30,000 patients.
