October 20, 2021

1:00PM-2:00PM ET

Event type: Live online

Please join Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) on Wednesday, October 20 from 1:00-2:00pm EDT for a student mobilization webinar, "COVID-19 Vaccine Advocacy."

MSF and allied groups have long advocated for equitable access to lifesaving vaccines, treatments, and diagnostics, and at this momentous time in the history of global health, we are stepping up our efforts.  Alongside a vast movement of activists around the world, we have been pressing President Biden, other global leaders, and pharmaceutical corporations to strengthen their commitments to global vaccine equity.  Students are a key part of this movement, and MSF is looking to partner more closely with you in pursuing vaccine access for the world.

At this webinar, Kate Elder, MSF's Access Campaign vaccines policy advisor, Tamaryn Nelson, advisor, Health/COVID-19 at Amnesty International, Merith Basey, executive director of Universities Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM) and Zain Rizvi, a law & policy researcher at Public Citizen, will discuss why access to COVID-19 vaccines is so inequitable globally and ways you can mobilize to demand change! The event will be moderated by Nick Bayer and Bridget Fleischer from MSF-USA's public engagement team.

You can submit questions ahead of time via the registration page or contact the MSF-USA public engagement team directly at studentchapters@newyork.msf.org. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions to our guest speakers during the event. This event is for anyone who is interested in getting involved with global health and humanitarian work!
