Doctors and Nurses in Yemen Struggle to Survive

Staff at Al Kuwait University Hospital in Sana'a are among the tens of thousands of public health employees in Yemen who face the daily risks and challenges of working a country devastated by conflict—and who have been struggling to survive on little to no pay over the past year. Many health workers cannot afford to keep going, and many health facilities have had to shut down. Those medical staff who continue to work without pay are helping their communities out of a sense of duty, and holding out hope for change.
